Standing Rules

Revised 2/4/03

1. All Officers and Executive Committee members must be paid members of the Valley Forge Instrumental Music Boosters.
2. Each Officer or Committee Chairman will have a Procedure Book in which they will record the activities of their positions.  This book will be kept current and passed on their successors at the May meeting, except for those with duties extending into the summer.
3. Bonding and Liability Insurance will be purchased annually.
4. There will be at least one scholarship of at least $500 awarded through the Parma Council PTA Scholarship Program to a graduating student.  The recipient will have completed four years of high school instrumental music, with their junior and senior year at Valley Forge.  VFIMB will pay for the recipient, recipient's two (2) guests, Valley Forge Instrumental Music Boosters' President, and Scholarship Chairman to attend the Scholarship Dinner.
5. The following recognitions will be presented to marching band students at the Band Banquet:

After one year of service:  Paper Certificate
After two years of service:  6" white/blue chenille VF letter
After three years of service:  Metal "Band" pin
After four years of service:  Blanket with year/VF Logo

6. All funds collected will be deposited within five (5) business days of collection.
7. 15% out of the profits from individual fundraisers will be put into the General Fund.  10% of that amount will go into the Uniform Fund.  A minimum of 10% of all General Fundraisers will be put into the Uniform Fund.
8. Individual student fundraising activities handled by VFIMB for marching band will start no earlier than June and end in September of the same calendar year (i.e, Door-to-Door, car washes, etc.).
9. Direct payments of Marching Band Student Account Fees by personal check or money order may be paid starting in April, with all fees paid in full by September 30 of the same calendar year.
10. Direct payments of Marching Band Student Account Fees exceeding $10 of applicable student balance will be reimbursed to parent/guardian upon request.
11. Payments credited through fundraising or sponsorship will remain restricted for applicable student while enrolled in the Marching Band program.  For a graduating/departing student, remaining funds credited through direct payments, fundraising, or sponsorship funding may be transferred to a sibling upon request from a parent or guardian.  Remaining funds credited through fundraising or sponsorship funding will be placed in a special restricted fund for students in need to be used confidentially at the discretion of the Marching Band Staff.
12. If a member of the Valley Forge Instrumental Music Boosters, their spouse, child, or parent expires, the VFIMB will send a cash donation to the memorial of the family's choice, not to exceed $25.00, if the funds are available.  In all circumstances, a card will be sent.
13. Amendments:  Standing Rules may be revised an any regular meeting by a 2/3 vote, without previous notice given and by a majority vote with previous notice given on the motion to change.
