Dr. Randolph P. Laycock

Dr. Randolph P. Laycock is in his 31st year as Music Director of the Parma Symphony Orchestra. He is also the conductor of the Baldwin-Wallace College Junior and Senior Youth Orchestras, and is Music Department Chairman of the Valley Forge Cluster Schools in the Parma City School District. Aside from his full-time duties teaching in the Parma City Schools, he is also adjunct professor of music history at Cuyahoga Community College – Western Campus. Dr. Laycock earned his Ph.D. in Music Education from Case Western Reserve University, Master of Music degree from Bowling Green State University, and Bachelor of Music Education from Baldwin Wallace College. Dr. Laycock has been included in six editions of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and is listed in the 53th edition of Who’s Who in America. He is also an active consultant for the Ohio Department of Education as a Praxis III assessor.

Amy Deluca

Ms. DeLuca is proud to be the new director of the Valley Forge High School Bands. After taking a few years to complete her masters she was thrilled with the opportunity to begin working at Valley Forge . She is a in her fourteenth year of teaching and has spent twelve of those years in the Parma City Schools. Currently she directs the Valley Forge marching band, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Band. She also teaches the Greenbriar Eighth Grade Band and the elementary bands at Pleasant View and Parma Park. Ms. DeLuca completed her undergraduate degree in Music education at Cleveland State University where she was named student teacher of the year and received her Masters in Music Education from the University of Akron. While at Cleveland State she performed in the University Bands, Pep Band, Wind Ensemble, and Euphonium ensemble. While at the University of Akron she performed in the University Brass Choir. In addition to her performing experiences at Cleveland State and The University of Akron, she also has performed in many professional ensembles. She has performed with the Seasonal Brass, Emperors of Swing, Gabrielle’s Horns, Octuba Fest, and Lakeland Civic Band. She has performed as a soloist with the North Royalton Community Band and the Cleveland Tuba Christmas. While a member of these performing groups she has performed at the Akron Civic Theatre., Ohio and State Theatres, Blossom Music Center, Severance Hall, Trinity Cathedral and many other local venues. She would like to wish the best of luck to all her students through out their years of performing with the Valley Forge Bands!

Mr. Morron

Kris Morron

As a performer, composer, arranger, educator, and business proprietor, Kristopher Morron has seen all sides of the music business. Between the ages of 16 and 19, Kris performed with world renown jazz musicians Curtis Fuller, Steve Turre, Kenny Burrell, Jimmy Smith, Joe Lovano, Ernie Krivda, and Benny Carter. In 2001, he toured Europe for three weeks with the Blue Lake Jazz Band as a counselor and the lead trombone player. Later in 2001, Kris completed his BMA at Bowling Green State University in Music Education with a minor in Jazz Studies. He has been a member of, recorded with, and composed for the award winning groups, the Aphrodesiatics and Mifune. Mifune has toured the country and opened for acts such as Brazilian Girls, (Grammy award winners) Ozomatli, and Cleveland Reggae legends, First Light (at Plain Dealer Pavilion). Kris has also recorded with Lounge Kitty (cabaret style lounge music), Carlos Jones (Reggae), Rep Life (Hip-Hop), and in 2007 his trombone playing was heard on the soundtrack for the short film Dropping Like Spies. Kris is a two-time nominee in the “Best Horn” category for the Cleveland Free Times Music Awards. His arrangements have been performed by the Lakewood High School Symphonic Orchestra as well as the nationally acclaimed Lakewood Project. As an educator, Mr. Morron has worked with and conducted the Bowling Green High School bands, the Lakewood High School orchestras, the Lakewood Project, the Greenbriar bands, and the Valley Forge High School bands. Mr. Morron has worked at Valley Forge High School since the fall of 2004. In 2005, Mr. Morron and Ms. Lynda Eubanks led the Valley Forge Marching Patriots to their first ever OMEA State Marching Band Finals. Before being hired by the Parma City Schools, Kris was the music coordinator for the Blues Schoolhouse education program at the House of Blues in downtown Cleveland. Kris is also the sole proprietor of Sombrero Brothers Productions; a company dedicated to high quality music productions in the greater Cleveland area and beyond. Above all the accomplishments listed above, Kris is most thankful for his more than understanding and patient wife, Christine and their lovely daughter Alexandra.
